Gifting is not rocket-science. I was surprised to see plethora of gifting tutorials on the web teaching people on how to give to others. I’d say, when is comes to giving – give from your heart. And think – for nothing beats a thoughtful gift.

Its not true that one has to spend too much to make the gift special. It is your thought that counts. It could be a box of chocolates, bouquet of flowers, new dress or accessory, or simply a stone picked off from the road. Its the thought the counts.

Little Pleasures of Giving - Enclosed in satin bows is a simple gift for little girls

And who does not like to receive a gift once in a while. Try to make your little gift special and unique. Keep the element of mystery by keeping its content covered. Let the unwrapping of the gift be fun for both the giver and receiver.

For the above gift of a simple hairband to a lovely little girl – floral paper, two colors of satin ribbons and a bunch of flowers were all that was needed to make her eyes bright and wide on an otherwise boring event.

Gifts wrapped in floral paper or girlie themes usually goes well with little girls. It always helps to have a crafty scissors that cuts the edges into scallops. Wrap the gift in bottle-like fashion and secure with sticky tape.

Satin ribbons in pale or bright colors add zing to any simple gift. For this one, I chose a wide blue ribbon as a base with a big knot. To counter that, a bright orange ribbon was added. Orange was also present in the floral paper. So both the colors connect as well as stand out. I did not have card to attach to the gift so I cut out a card from a yellow card-paper and wrote the birthday message on it.

Simple and sweet. And nothing compares to the sweet smile of the lovely girl who got this little hairpiece, gift-wrapped with love.
